Identity Card for Non-Resident Keralites
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. V.S.Achuthanandan inaugurated the distribution of Pravasi Identity Card on 27th July 2008 at IMS auditorium, Mankada, Malappuram District. In the first phase, it is decided to issue the Identity Cards to Non-Resident Keralites who have 18 years of age and now working or residing with resident permit abroad for at least six months. The project is launched as a pilot phase in Malappuram District. Block wise camps are arranged to collect the filled application forms from NRKs. The camps in Malappuram District started on 26th July 2008 and the details are noted below. The counters are working from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Free Application Forms are available in Malappuram Collectorate and Panchayat offices. Filled up application forms are collected through the camps conducted by NORKA-ROOTS. The dates of application collection in Malappuram district are in the table shown above.

Guidelines for submitting Application Forms

• Before collection of application forms Norka-Roots will conduct meetings in each district and the application forms will be distributed through local bodies free of cost. Application form can also be downloaded from this site.
• The filled-up application has to be attested by the respective ward member/councilor with his name, signature and seal.
• The prescribed fee for the Identity Card is Rs.200/-. The fee has to be remitted only at the cash counter.
• The details of date and venue of application collection in each district will be published through this site and leading print/visual media.
• The filled-up application is to be submitted only at the collection centres in the respective district by the NRK itself or his family member. Hence please do not send the filled-up application to any of the Norka-Roots offices by post, e_mail or any other form now.

Self attested copies of the passport of the NRK
Copies of Ration Card(if available)

Request to Shopkeepers/Service providers
It is also decided to issue the NRK Identity Card with an added facility of Discount Card. Leading shopkeepers and service providers in Kerala, who are interested to offer discount to the NRK ID Card holders, are requested to register their details with Norka-Roots. The Name and Address of the selected shopkeepers/service providers, who offer discount to NRK ID cardholders, will be made available to the NRKs in printed format and also through our websites www.norka.gov.in & www.norkaroots.net. The NRKs visiting the listed shops/establishments will bring their unique NRK ID Card for getting the discounts.
