Heritage
Village, a new initiative for Non Resident Keralites proposed
to be set up at Kappil near Varkala with the active involvement
of NRKs and other departments of the state government.
The proposed
project is decided to set up in 500 acres of land in Kerala
to promote and foster Kerala's Culture, Tradition, Food habits,
Art and Dance forms, Martial arts, showcase its Festivals and
History for those NRK’s who lost roots in Kerala. Heritage
Village will contain Arts and Cultural centers, Kalari &
Yoga schools, Medical centres including Ayurveda and Educational
institutions of International Standard. It also aims to promote
Organic and Traditional Farming methods, Entrepreneurial development
through Eco Friendly industries. Residential premises will also
be provided for NRKs and their families to visit and stay in
the state.
Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation is the Nodal
Agency for the implementation of the Project. Government has
sanctioned Rs.25 Lakhs towards initiation of the project. The
commencement of activities towards the implementation of the
project is being progressing.
